(Permanent tented camp - Southern Serengeti)
Location
Perfectly sited in a cluster of kopjes, Kusini is a permanent tented camp blended seamlessly into the delicate environment of the predator-rich plains of the far southern Serengeti. Perhaps surprisingly, Kusini sits exclusively in this remote region of the Serengeti, affording guests the rare opportunity for secluded game drives and walking encounters well away from the main tourist circuits. The surrounding Mwaki Kopjes, huge tree-tufted piles of boulders, rise like islands from the sea of grass, affording panoramic views north towards the Gol Mountains and Ngorongoro Crater.
Lodge and rooms
Secluded amongst the rocky outcrops of this private paradise, Kusini's 9 tents feature en-suite bathrooms with showers and elevated terraces overlooking the Serengeti plains. Each tent has mosquito-netted windows, sewn-in floor and an elevated terrace overlooking the Serengeti plains. Inside the tents, you'll find real twin beds with comfortable foam mattresses, crisp linen and warm blankets. Each tent has bedside lights and a separate bucket for showers with lots of hot water, a discreet safari toilet. a table and two safari chairs. For a classic safari experience, you can go for an elegant candlelit meal and safari tales in the dinning tent, have African sundowners or even enjoy a picturesque banquette on top of a nearby kopje.
